Project Manager, Space Environment

Secure World Foundation (SWF) is seeking a full-time Project Manager, Space Environment to provide analysis and support for our mission areas in space sustainability. This role focuses on space situational awareness, space traffic management, orbital debris mitigation, and space security. The position will be based in either our Broomfield, Colorado, or Washington, DC office as a hybrid role, with a combination of in-office and remote work each week.

Role Overview

The Project Manager will oversee and execute SWF’s program plans by managing project content, providing analysis, and engaging with a range of stakeholders. Key responsibilities include planning and executing space sustainability projects, supporting SWF publications, and leading collaborations on core mission activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support assigned projects through research, analysis, planning, and budget oversight.
  • Manage workstreams and engage external stakeholders in initiatives related to space policy.
  • Lead or assist with project schedules, monitoring progress from inception to delivery.
  • Represent SWF at events and conferences, both in the U.S. and internationally.
  • Contribute to SWF publications by publishing or co-authoring relevant articles.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2-5+ years of experience in project or program management within relevant sectors.
  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, space policy) or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of space sustainability topics, including space debris mitigation and orbital mechanics.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

Salary and Benefits

SWF offers a competitive salary of $70,860 - $80,000, based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, health insurance, a 401(k) with employer match, and more.
