Project Manager, Space Environment

Secure World Foundation (SWF) is seeking a full-time Project Manager, Space Environment to provide analysis and support for our core mission areas in space sustainability, including space situational awareness, space traffic management and coordination, orbital debris mitigation and remediation, and space security. This hybrid role is based in either our Broomfield, Colorado, or Washington, DC office, requiring a few in-office days each week alongside remote work.

Role Overview

The Project Manager will implement SWF’s program plan, creating and managing project content and related initiatives. Key responsibilities include executing space sustainability projects, managing workstreams, engaging stakeholders, and contributing to SWF publications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Managers with research, analysis, planning, and financial tracking for assigned projects.
  • Oversee and organize workstreams and external engagements related to space policy and technical topics.
  • Plan and implement project schedules, monitoring progress through completion.
  • Represent SWF at conferences, workshops, and meetings globally.
  • Draft or co-publish articles related to SWF program activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2-5+ years of experience in program or project management roles.
  • A master’s degree in relevant fields is desirable; a bachelor’s degree in engineering, policy, or a related field is required.
  • Knowledge of technical and policy aspects of space sustainability, including orbital debris, space traffic management, and space situational awareness.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.

Salary and Benefits

SWF offers an annual salary of $70,860–$80,000, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits, including paid leave, health insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, and more.
