Secure World Foundation is excited to announce an evolution in our leadership team, strengthening our commitment to the secure, sustainable, and peaceful uses of outer space. We are introducing key roles to enhance strategic planning and execution for future-year projects.

First, SWF is thrilled to announce that Krystal Azelton has been promoted to the Senior Director, Program Planning at Secure World Foundation. In this capacity, Ms. Azelton will lead the program planning process for future-year projects and budget in support of the organization’s strategic goals. Alongside her new responsibilities, Ms. Azelton will continue as Co-chair of SWF’s Summit for Space Sustainability.

SWF is also proud to announce that Ian Christensen has been promoted to Senior Director, Private Sector Programs. In his new role, Mr. Christensen will lead SWF's SSA and STM policy work and initiatives related to in-space logistics, including satellite servicing,  orbital debris remediation and mitigation and other ISAM capabilities. He will also continue to spearhead SWF’s private sector engagement efforts and serve as Co-chair of SWF’s Summit for Space Sustainability.

Ms. Azelton and Mr. Christensen will assume their new roles starting Monday, 29 April 2024.

These promotions within SWF’s leadership team will bring the seasoned perspectives of two long-serving program staff members and help the organization to continue our work toward sustainable activities in space.
