SWF Issues RFP for Website Redesign

Secure World Foundation (SWF),  a 501(c)3 non-profit operating foundation, is the leading civil society organization dedicated to fostering the secure and sustainable use of space for the benefit of Earth and all its peoples. As part of our efforts to enhance our global presence and extend our reach, we are soliciting proposals to redesign and update our existing website.

The primary objective of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to identify and select a qualified vendor equipped with proven experience and expertise in website development and design to undertake a complete redesign and update of Secure World Foundation's current website.

Our goals for this website redesign project are the following:

• Optimized Resource Accessibility: Improve accessibility, discoverability, and organization of SWF's vast resource library, including but not limited to, our publications, event reports, research findings, and other informational materials on space sustainability, space policy and law, international space and lunar governance, and more. The design should involve a more robust and user-friendly search feature or navigational tools that support intuitive content discovery.
• Information and Awareness Promotion: Reinforce the website's role as a leading source of reliable, up-to-date information on space sustainability. Meeting this goal involves presenting a clear and comprehensive view of the current state of space sustainability and resources for continued learning on the latest developments in space sustainability. The site should effectively raise awareness about SWF's core issues and offerings.
• SWF Visibility Enhancement: Create a platform that more effectively showcases SWF's work, activities, and accomplishments, focusing on the work of our subject matter experts and what SWF, as an organization, is achieving. It should feature a clear and prominent representation of SWF, its mission, its role as a leading organization on space sustainability, and the impact of its work.
• Audience Engagement: Cultivate a virtual space that facilitates easy ways for users to engage with SWF and its initiatives. This could include easy sign-up processes for newsletters, a single process for media and academic inquiries, and straightforward methods for connecting with specific SWF initiatives and their representative project manager(s). The website should also make provisions for particular community interaction, such as spaces for young professionals and scholarship winners, and open job opportunities.
• Streamlined Navigation: Develop a website that is easy to navigate, ensuring that information is readily available and visitors can find what they seek with minimal effort.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure the website aligns with and enhances SWF's established brand identity. The design should reflect SWF's mission and values, incorporating consistent use of our logo, colors, typography, and other branding elements.

Through this RFP, SWF aims to engage with potential partners who can help us create a more dynamic, interactive, and user-friendly website that meets our organization's needs and provides a valuable resource to our varied audience segments. The successful execution of this project will significantly contribute to our vision and organizational success. In addition, as a 501(c)(3) private foundation, some or all of a vendor’s development and implementation expenses may be tax-deductible.
