SWF Executive Director Dr. Peter Martinez delivered a keynote at the 6th New Space Atlantic Summit in Lisbon. He addressed both policy and regulation for the space environment. Dr. Martinez highlighted how policy, developed and consistently implemented over time, can provide continuity and stability for national space activities that will allow commercial space activities to take root and flourish over the long term. In addressing regulation, he outlined that fairly enacted, expeditiously and consistently enforced regulations at the national level can help to promote commercial space growth.

The broader theme of this year’s summit was “A Global Effort for Space Sustainability”.  The event description refers to the role of space in preserving global peace and stability. These elements are central to the work Secure World undertakes at events around the globe.
