SWF Director of Program Planning Dr. Brian Weeden participated in a panel discussion on "Utilizing the ultimate frontier responsibly", which was part of a series of webinars organized by the United nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) to help celebrate World Space Week in 2022. Dr. Weeden gave a short presentation on why space sustainability is critical for not only space activities but also benefits on Earth, and identified five priorities for future governance discussions: space environmental management, orbital debris remediation/removal, space traffic management, and lunar activities.
