SWF Co-sponsors the National Space Weather Partnership's 2020 Space Weather Enterprise Forum (SWEF)

The Space Weather Enterprise Forum brings together the space weather community to share information and ideas among policymakers, senior government leaders, researchers, service- provider agencies, private-sector service providers, space weather information users, media, and legislators and staff from Capitol Hill to raise awareness of space weather and its effects on society. This year's virtual event, held November 17-19,  focused on continuity of critical space weather observations, transitioning research results into operations, and the application of space weather information to activities in space.

SWF Director of Program Planning Brian Weeden moderated a panel entitled “The Role of Space Weather in Creating a Safe, Stable, and Operationally Sustainable Space Environment” with speakers from the Department of Commerce, the Federal Aviation Administration, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Colorado at Boulder.  The panelists discussed the important role space weather plays in space situational awareness and ways to improve prediction, forecasting, and data sharing to support the growth in commercial space activities and a future space traffic management regime.
