SWF Contributed to U.S.-India Business Council's Commercial Space Dialogue

In advance of the U.S.-India Civil Space Joint Working Group scheduled for Nov. 21, 2019 in Bangalore, India, the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hosted a delegation of Indian commercial space leaders in Washington, D.C. for the International Astronautical Congress (IAC). The Indian delegation included large domestic aerospace companies involved in India's space program, ranging from developing technology to space platforms including launch systems, satellites, ground stations, and space-based applications and services. U.S. Government and civil society representatives attended the dialogue as well.

Conversations focused on the development of a commercial space sector in India and the lessons learned from development in the United States. Discussions also focused on to what extent a consolidated government policy toward commercial space activities is necessary for such development.
