Held in Lisbon, Portugal on April 19-20, the C-SIGMA Workshop VII, Collaboration in Space for International Global Maritime Awareness focused on how the current explosion in new space-based technology is being used or, even more importantly, how it could be used, to assist the world to address its challenges in the areas of security and safety as well as those in protecting the environment and resources of the maritime domain. The event was hosted at the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and was attended by a wide array of maritime and space sector experts from government, industry, academia, and non-profits.
Krystal Wilson spoke about policy issues and opportunities regarding the increasing use of space for maritime domain awareness. Her slides can be found here.
