Since 1982, the National Space Society’s annual International Space Development Conference has brought together an impressive cross section of the space industry. Attendees include managers, engineers, scientists, educators, and business people from civilian, military, commercial, entrepreneurial, and grassroots advocacy.

This year, SWF Executive Director Michael Simpson was invited to serve as master of ceremonies for the annual Governors Dinner that assembles the large majority of delegates to the ISDC.  He also attended the meeting of the NSS Board of Governors of which he is a long standing member.

SWF has pioneered the discussion of space sustainability at the ISDC, which historically has had more of an emphasis on space exploration and settlement.  SWF has also succeeded in increasing the international perspective of the event by reporting on and referencing its work around the world. 

The Governor’s meeting takes place during the ISDC each year.  This meeting assembles a diverse group of space enthusiasts and participants many of whom do not regularly attend our events or others at which we are commonly present.  Increasingly this group includes influential people in the space commerce sector with whom we can build important connections.
