European Space Weather Conference Highlights International Collaboration

Director of Space Applications Programs, Krystal Wilson, and Project Manager, Josh Wolny joined over 400 other participants from all over the world for the 16th European Space Weather Week in Liege, Belgium from Nov. 18-22, 2019. SWF's space weather project seeks to highlight the benefits of international collaboration and capacity building as well as the better integration of space weather information into planning for space sustainability. 

To those ends, Ms. Wilson and Mr. Wolny helped facilitate a paper session on "National And Global Preparedness For Space Weather Events: Research, Forecasting, And Mitigation," and attended the rest of the conference. Mr. Wolny also spoke on a plenary panel addressing megaconstellations and space weather. He discussed the implications of vastly increasing the satellite population including regulatory challenges.
