SWF Talks About Space Code of Conduct to Local Colorado Community

SWF Operations Director Dr. Suzanne Metlay is presenting on the need for a space code of conduct to students and families at Berthoud High School in Colorado. The title of her talk is: Bad Behavior in Space - Why we need rules of the road for satellites and a code of conduct for space-farers.

SWF Contributed to Workshop in Paris, France

SWF Executive Director Dr. Ray Williamson and Space Policy Consultant Agnieszka Lukaszczyk attended a workshop at L’Institut Français des Relations Internationales (IFRI) in Paris, France from June 18-19. The workshop, co-sponsored by Secure World Foundation, focused on the space code of conduct advanced by the European Union, space situational awareness and a ban on anti-satellite weapons. SWF Releases New Fact Sheet on NEO Threat Mitigation

SWF has released another fact sheet - Protecting Earth from Near Earth Objects. The front page provides a general overview of NEOs, and the back page covers the legal and policy issues related to mitigation of a NEO impact.

Brian Weeden, SWF Technical Advisor, presented at Air Force Space Safety Council

Brian Weeden attended an event sponsored by the Air Force Space Safety Council in Albuquerque, New Mexico this week (June 17-19). He presented on current international space safety efforts. 

SWF Attended UNIDIR Conference

Secure World Foundation Executive Director Dr. Ray Williamson, Legal and Policy Advisor Ben Baseley-Walker and Space Policy Consultant Agnieszka Lukaszczyk attended a conference this week at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) in Geneva, Switzerland. Secure World Foundation co-sponsored the event and was involved in the development and execution of this conference, Dr. Williamson and Baseley-Walker both chaired specific sessions and Baseley-Walker presented on one panel.
