Brian Weeden Discusses Role of Space in Maritime Security at U.S. Chamber of Commerce

SWF Director of Program Planning Dr. Brian Weeden participated in a panel discussion on the role of space in supporting maritime security and surveillance at an event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The panel featured Mr. Charles L. Beames, Executive Chairman & Chief Strategy Officer, York Space Systems; Dr. John Mittleman, Naval Research Laboratory; and Mr. Gregory Poling, Director, Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative, CSIS; and was moderated by Mr. Christian Zur, Executive Director, Procurement and Space Industry Council at the Chamber of Commerce. The panel discussed the role space can play in improving communications and surveillance of the Arctic and maritime domain more generally and some of the legal, policy, and economic challenges that need to be resolved.
