SWF Releases Summary Report from the 2013 AMOS Dialogue on SSA

SWF has released a summary of the discussions from the 2013 AMOS Dialogue that took place in Maui, Hawaii in September. Held in conjunction with the 2013 Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Conference, the Dialogue brought together a group of SSA providers and end-users to discuss cooperation and data sharing.

A significant takeaway from the discussion was the inability of any one country or non-governmental organization to take on the entire SSA mission itself, and thus the need for data sharing and cooperation between governments and with satellite operators. Various countries and organizations investing in specialized capabilities can play an important role in contributing specialized capabilities that improve SSA for all. However, for this to happen successfully there needs to be the technical capacity and an openness at the policy level to "load sharing" and outside contributions.

The full summary can be downloaded here and more details on the Dialogue can be found here.
