Orbital Debris Remediation Summit

Secure World Foundation, in partnership with LeoLabs, co-organized the first Orbital Debris Remediation Summit in New Zealand. This invite-only event brought together representatives from space agencies, academia, and industry to discuss how the community can make progress on orbital debris remediation, especially for large debris objects.

Day One (20 February) — Summit in Queenstown 

Day-long discussions on potential concepts and innovations to overcome economic, programmatic, economic, and diplomatic hurdles to making remediation a reality.

Day Two (21 February) — LeoLabs Radar Site Visit

Meet in the morning for breakfast and head out together to the LeoLabs radar site for an exclusive tour and to continue discussions from the first day.

Optional: Day Three (22 February) — University of Auckland Visit (1/2 day)

Travel to the University of Auckland to hear the latest research from New Zealand and Australian institutions on space debris mitigation and remediation.
