Krystal Wilson Speaks at the 8th Annual Space & Satellite Regulatory Colloquium

SWF Director of Space Applications Programs Krystal Wilson participated in a panel discussion on “Universal (Satellite) Service: Redefining National ‘Broadband’ Plans” at the 8th Annual Space & Satellite Regulatory Colloquium in Washington, DC. The panel also featured William Garrison, Expert Advisor, U.S. Department of Commerce; David Townsend, President, DNTA; Ferdinand Van Ingen, Senior Industry Specialist TMT, International Finance Corporation; and was moderated by Jeff Hill, Executive Editor, Access Intelligence. The participants discussed how regulation can promote satellite as a digital divide solution, particularly the effectiveness and relevancy of Universal Service Funds (USFs). Overall, this event aimed to address the legal issues at the cutting edge of the space and satellite industry, and aims to foster dialogue among the participants on addressing these legal, regulatory and financing issues.
