SWF Provides Input on Best Practices and Norms at the 7th Annual Space and Satellite Colloquium

SWF Space Law Advisor Chris Johnson spoke on a panel about best practices and norms of behavior for governing space activities at the 7th Annual Space & Satellite Colloquium at Reed Smith LLP in Washington, DC on October 18, 2018. Mr. Johnson explored the strengths and shortcomings of best practices and other forms of 'soft law', as used in a diverse field of space activities, including the commercial, scientific, and security aspects of space. The panel, called “The State of Space Best Practices: Are Voluntary Practices, Standards, and Behaviors Gaining Momentum?" discussed soft law and other non-binding norms of behavior in the space domain.
