SWF Participates in the 2015 ISU Space Studies Program in Athens, Ohio
SWF’s Executive Director Michael Simpson, Project Manager Chris Johnson, and Technical Advisor Brian Weeden gave lectures and hosted workshops at the annual International Space University (ISU) Space Studies Program, a nine-week immersive course held at a different location every summer. Of special note this year, Mr. Johnson served as Department Faculty in the space policy, economics, and law (PEL) department at the ISU SSP 15. The SSP is being held at the Ohio University.

SWF Participates in Second Workshop on US-China Relations in Strategic Domains
SWF Technical Advisor Brian Weeden participated in a workshon in Honolulu, Hawaii, on U.S.-China relations and engagement in the strategic domains of nuclear, maritime, space, and cyberspace.The workshop was part of a study group created by the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) and the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS) at Peking University. The study group plans to publish its recommendations in early 2016.

SWF Presents Statement to Code of Conduct Discussions
Washington Office Director Victoria Samson presented SWF's statement while at the "Multilateral Negotiations on an International Code of Conduct for Outer Space Activities," which were held in New York, New York, July 27-31, 2015. In this statement, SWF promoted the importance of using the discussions to build consensus on norms of behavior that can lead to the long-term sustainable use of space. SWF Program Manager Chris Johnson also represented SWF at the meeting.

SWF Joins Space Panel at MIIS Workshop on Strategic Stability
SWF Project Manager Laura Delgado López spoke about the opportunities and challenges of small satellites during the Workshop on the Impact of New Technologies on Strategic Stability. Organized by the Program on Strategic Stability Evaluation (POSSE) and hosted by the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS), the workshop brought together a diverse group of experts to discuss advances in the fields of biotechnology, space, and information technology in the context of strategic stability.
